Last Christmas, Zernco employees voted to support the Make-A-Wish organization to help them achieve their mission “to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.”
On May 6 of this year we hosted our 2nd Annual Clay Shoot event to benefit Make-A-Wish. With the support of our clients and vendors as well as the Wichita community, we raised over $7,000. While we are extremely excited about our donation, we were just $485 short of being able to fully fund one local’s child’s wish.
“Our” child is Vincent, an 8-year-old cystic fibrosis patient whose greatest wish is to meet the Marvel Superheroes at Universal Studios. Vincent says he likes superheroes so much “because they save people and they are awesome!” He is most excited about meeting Spider-Man and wearing his own Spider-Man costume all around the park.
Despite his life-threatening medical condition, Vincent is an average 8-year-old boy who likes to “play and act crazy” with his friends. He can often be found outside playing on swings, riding his bike, or pushing his scooter. He loves to spend time with his family, especially at his favorite family activity—their weekly Sunday supper.
Zernco wants to be a superhero to Vincent as well by raising $485 to finish funding his wish. Here’s how you can help.
A donation in any amount will purchase a star which will be displayed at the Zernco office with the contributor’s name displayed. It is our goal to have raised the remaining funds by September 1 so Vincent can take his trip in the fall.
Pretty easy way to become a superhero, don’t you think? And you thought it required spandex and Spidey-sense!
